Monkey Low Stock Alert ("the app") is a Shopify app that monitors a merchant's product inventory and sends scheduled email digests when items run low or out of stock. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it's used, and how it's handled.
When a merchant installs the app, it requests access to the following Shopify data through the Shopify Admin API:
The app does not request or access customer personal information, order data, or payment details.
Merchants configure their own alert rules within the app, including alert names, stock thresholds, schedules, and recipient email addresses for digest notifications. These recipient email addresses are provided by the merchant (e.g. their own staff) and are used solely to deliver the digest emails the merchant configured.
Inventory data is used only to determine which products are low or out of stock and to build the digest emails a merchant has scheduled. Data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
The app uses Resend to deliver digest emails to the recipients a merchant configures. Email content (subject, item list, CSV attachment) passes through Resend solely to complete delivery.
Alert configuration and digest history are retained for as long as the app is installed. If a merchant uninstalls the app, this data is permanently deleted within 48 hours, in line with Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Access tokens are stored securely and are never exposed to the client or to third parties outside of the services described above.
Merchants can request a copy of their data or request deletion of their data at any time by contacting us. Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks (customer data request, customer redact, and shop redact) are supported so that data requests routed through Shopify are also honored automatically.
